www.traction-integrale.com Outlander and Prototype-X Concept

The Outlander on-road SUV to be unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Show raises the bar on fun-to-drive and fun-to-use as a new-taste SUV. MMC's new-age global platform, stiffer and providing superior levels of crashworthiness, a low-consumption/high-output aluminum cylinder block engine and an electronically controlled 4WD system all contribute to heart-thumping performance with feel-good response and faithful and predictable handling. These qualities are complemented by fun-to-use levels of comfort and practical utility as seen, for example, in the split tailgate. Following Japan launch in October 2005 and North America, China launches in 2006, the European introduction at the Geneva Motor Show will see Outlander on sale in all the world's major auto markets. To meet local market needs, the European Outlander will be offered 2.0-liter turbo and 2.2-liter diesel units.

Outlander will be joined on the Mitsubishi stands at the Geneva Motor Show by the Prototype-X concept shown at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2007. A design study for the new Lancer Evolution due to be launched during the 2007 fiscal year, the Prototype-X embodies Mitsubishi Motors' trademark "fun-to-drive" qualities throughout. Mechanical features distinguishing the concept include Mitsubishi's S-AWC*1 (Super All-Wheel Control) vehicle dynamics system built around a 4WD system and a new aluminum block MIVEC*2 turbocharged engine mated to a high performance six-speed automated manual transmission.

MMC will celebrate Yesterday as well in Geneva, since 90 years ago in 1917 the Mitsubishi Model-A, Japan's first series production car, went into production at what was then Mitsubishi Shipbuilding. To mark this anniversary Mitsubishi Motors will be showing a replica model of the Mitsubishi Model-A at the Geneva Motor Show.
